Marilyn Sadler presents Rickelle Nelson
with the2009 Freedom Fest Popular Choice Award
Rickelle Nelson, resident artist and frame designer at South Hill Gallery was presented with the Popular Choice Award for her art project that was part of the Woodford County Humane Society's 2009 Freedom Fest. Artists were invited to create a piece of original art after having the opportunity to visit scenic Pin Oak Farm and offer them for auction. Guests were given the opportunity to vote for the popular choice among the artists submissions and this year there was a three way tie, with Rickelle deservedly being one of the winners.South Hill Gallery was also honored to donate a framed halter worn by Rachel Alexander, the filly that everyone loves to watch run! This framed piece sold for just over $1,500.00 at auction. We understand that over 90% of the money raised during the week long Freedom Fest event goes toward the care of animals. The Woodford County Humane Society is a wonderfully run organization with legions of great volunteers.
Congratulations to Rickelle!
