To help bring these images back to life is one of our favorite things. There is always a story to go along with the photo and that keeps it personal for us. The relationships our work brings is the best thing about our shop, hands down.<br />
<br />
Here is a little before and after that really doesn't completely tell the story of how far gone this photo was.....mold spots, curled from water damage and almost black. Some painstaking time at the computer removed all the the damage without obscuring the facial features and reprinted on archival rag paper it will last for several generations to come to keep the family history alive!<br />

I had an opportunity to take my camera along on our recent trip to Las Vegas to attend the West Coast Art and Framing Show. I took a landscape photography and printing class taught by Hal Schmitt of LIGHT Photographic Workshops. About 30 participants took the short trip out to Red Rock Canyon and we were surprised to have some beautiful clouds to add to the interest of the rugged landscape.</div>

I took lots of pictures that morning but shot a quick panorama of this vista, stitched it together when I got home and sent it back to Hal to show him what I had done. He liked it and said with my permission he would like to enter it into the photo contest that Canon was sponsoring for the show. I just got the call today that my image was selected as the winner! I will be receiving a new Canon Pixma ink jet printer! Isn't it fun to win at anything?</div>

Thanks Hal for the opportunity to get out and shoot!</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">April 20, 2014</span><br />
<br />
Easter means lots of things to different people. Is one of my favorite holidays because there is no work involved except the personal retracing of the path of Jesus. Just like spring arriving every year, we know how the story ends! Victory in the Resurrection? Right?<br />
<br />
This year Easter has taken on a whole new meaning. You see, about 9 p.m. on Easter Sunday, a drunk driver did this to our business:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUWP4Zovdl36xNpFWsQOLibcfcYY0km-kJjT37ok9TRdGUrc467z91Z8X1ZLORYaqjFhR70XJgjqq8HELepmrj_1U3kQBK7Zh4hHLg3II5Ep0O_izd7E4rF4VXXiIpkEgeX4M7hG6YbigF/s1600/damage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUWP4Zovdl36xNpFWsQOLibcfcYY0km-kJjT37ok9TRdGUrc467z91Z8X1ZLORYaqjFhR70XJgjqq8HELepmrj_1U3kQBK7Zh4hHLg3II5Ep0O_izd7E4rF4VXXiIpkEgeX4M7hG6YbigF/s1600/damage.jpg" height="155" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Our business means a lot to us, my husband's life long profession, our sole livelihood and that of our four full time staff members. Our business is relational, we have been around for 37 years so we have lots of friends. Many of them I have heard from in the last 36 hours. This was a great reminder that the impact of our business, and even our lives, goes far beyond what we do to make a living. <br />
<br />
First let me say a good word for our first responders - the Lexington Fire Department and Police Department were amazing. This was my first time to have a catastrophic event - those guys are like chaplains, pastors in uniform....I never thought of them as caregivers before. Now I get it.<br />
<br />
But this felt different, purely as an act of grace, we were strong in the middle of chaos, armed with resolve to take the next steps being laid out for us and covered with nothing but gratitude. What happened on a Sunday evening to destroy bricks and mortar could have been life and limb on a busy Monday afternoon on Versailles Road. Gratitude!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF8Q2Bt9FadIBr3oIfNfz0PaPEHMSdSGCVguB0Vv6uXhopSdfzBmfRQg7D6n8AtzcgCKF3KrYMpU0ZHxgtR6f-EtzF0NnVQE4uDw9XbqbTUSKaN3htRsjDP36f6NwMCMxl109hDxntBvRA/s1600/day_2_building.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF8Q2Bt9FadIBr3oIfNfz0PaPEHMSdSGCVguB0Vv6uXhopSdfzBmfRQg7D6n8AtzcgCKF3KrYMpU0ZHxgtR6f-EtzF0NnVQE4uDw9XbqbTUSKaN3htRsjDP36f6NwMCMxl109hDxntBvRA/s1600/day_2_building.jpeg" height="273" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
In the light of day on Monday morning began the task of insurance calls, code enforcement, structural engineers, contractors, phone calls, text messages and TV interviews! Things started dropping into place, calm and peaceful feelings were abundant. There was even laughter amid the chaos!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Friends showed up to get supplies, carry art and inventory, go get lunch and give us a hug! First visitor was our Pastor, then artists, our banker, family, church friends, customers and more customers. Everything was going to be OK!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Today we had good report from the electrical inspector so we get our meter back in and tomorrow the journey to powering up begins. Communication, records, power tools, light....all depending on the life giving flow of electricity! <br />
<br />
If you know me, then you know I read several daily devotions. Today was this one that really helped me put things into words...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>“That’s When the Miracles Really Start Showing Up”</i> by Gary Meuller</div>
<br />
You can’t fix the government. You can’t cure the church. You can’t change the world. But you can do something huge with your life. You can get right with God. Not by trying to be perfect, seeking to be more righteous than anyone else or attempting to earn your way into heaven. But simply by making it your life’s priority to approach God with a humble spirit, get real with God about how much help you need, invite God to go to work in your life and<i><b> live out of the abundant grace with which God fills you</b></i>. So start today. Right now, in fact. Then do it again tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that. And the day after that. One day at a time. Every day of your life. And, along the way, you’ll discover that’s when the miracles really start showing up.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>and this from Richard Rohr: </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Ultimate security allows you to suffer small insecurities without tremendous effort."</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Yes, we are undergoing a resurrection of sorts. Out of the rubble will arise a better South Hill Gallery. One with reinforced front walls. One where our staff sets toward the rear of the room, not on the street. A chance to rebuild our front room better, not constrained by the facade that we started with.<br />
<br />
Yes, Mike and I and our little band of merry men, we are going to be OK! Living out of the abundant grace we have been given.<br />

Michael is a well established artist in the area and his landscape work is highly sought after. We had the opportunity to meet Michael and his family, even play a little music with the Kentucky Wheelers and best of all enter into an agreement to be his gallery representative in Lexington.<br />

We Do!Every now and then I have <br />a crazy framing idea....isn't it fun to pull out something new out of the creative toolbox? We have a new collection of canvases from our favorite equine artist, Erica Nordean. This small canvas, 12 x 8, just needed a little dressing with a float frame. I loved the play of warm green and cool silver in the piece, so I put a silver fillet in the back of the float frame. When you look at the painting, there is a sparkle down deep, rather than a dark line. It really adds something nice, yet subtle to the piece!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/09/2489.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/09/s_2489.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/09/2490.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/09/s_2490.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/08/09/2491.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/08/09/s_2491.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Look for the entire collection to hang at TACAir Gallery soon!<br /><br /><br />Letha Drury<br />South Hill Gallery<br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br /><p class='blogpress_location'>Location:<a href='http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Versailles%20Rd,Lexington,United%20States%4038.049641%2C-84.525863&z=10'>Versailles Rd,Lexington,United States</a></p>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-36644180139669487202012-08-08T16:40:00.001-04:002012-08-08T16:40:18.377-04:00Create your own salon groupingWe have a great new collection of ready made frames that come complete with mats and a template for hanging. It is a wonderful space with lots of daily traffic and it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week!<br />

<br />
We are especially proud of the offering we have compiled for the opening of racing season this spring in the bluegrass. We have some wonderful pieces featuring an array of styles of equine art...pieces on paper, canvas, pastel, oil, large and small. I have posted some pictures but nothing is a substitute for seeing it in person. The great thing is you can go any time, the doors are always open.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Starting with great digital photographs, we were able to enlarge these files to make a statement as wall art. Printing on Optica Fine Art Paper and treated with a UV/ moisture resistant coating allows these images to be displayed without mats or glass. We have coined a term for this treatment, "Photo Floats," meaning that we drymount the photos to foam core and then apply a thin wooden strainer strip on the back. This provides rigidity and structure to the photo and allows the image to appear to be floating off the wall. A fresh, modern look that is also an economical way to showcase an image!</span></td></tr>

A bit smaller frame presence and definately more transitional.<br /><br />There is no wrong way to frame this lovely silk scarf! Check out the scarf in person at our shop, or order one directly from our website and it will come to your door!<br /><br />Enjoy!<div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-86593024855418553042010-09-24T23:50:00.002-04:002010-09-25T00:01:05.179-04:00Let the Games Begin<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgclwy1Krv3CxB0yaDNJUoNausVR4JfL7hS-a96WpPE-JHmi2r0kScgBCzjcEWnCQbherMVR9bJ4MAcMN7zg_o8AhIG6RAhN1JEqevOzjsdHCeIleMLpdZSGHQnO0D85Rgr0LaIuvSV32M2/s1600/WEG_scarf_CS.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgclwy1Krv3CxB0yaDNJUoNausVR4JfL7hS-a96WpPE-JHmi2r0kScgBCzjcEWnCQbherMVR9bJ4MAcMN7zg_o8AhIG6RAhN1JEqevOzjsdHCeIleMLpdZSGHQnO0D85Rgr0LaIuvSV32M2/s320/WEG_scarf_CS.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5520696197140545730" border="0" /></a><br />It seems like only days ago that the "clocks" went up downtown, counting down 1000 days until the World Equestrian Games. My husband, visionary that he is, started thinking of all the things we could "do" to be a part of the buzz that is happening in our town.<br /><br />1000 days later, we are working very hard to get ready for three very distinct and different art shows, complete with receptions, food, wine and art...and the least of our projects has been the Kentucky 2010 Silk Scarf. Rickelle Nelson created the drawings, which were translated onto silk in a lovely design with bits, leather and a logo in the center. This scarf is really something special, no matter if you like to wear art, or frame it and hang on the wall. This one is a keeper, and they are limited, so better check them out.<br /><br />If you are out and about during the games, check out our website for our show schedules featuring Dean Hill (photography), Erica Nordean (contemporary equine art) and Rickelle Nelson (traditional equine art) through the end of October.<br /><br />Let the Games Begin!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-59589093008312457872010-09-06T11:47:00.004-04:002010-09-06T11:51:00.992-04:00Libra Rising - The Art of Erica Nordean<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0tge2sKFMwhCLMRxxGrsmuLBKcj3mAW5l0Vu4VpOxZJi1ik-bdwYnGKC9meHTxlvG7HHoWSopalPcfQb4rHiqanq_5XYyTR-cqJ8cENRyh_Xi7hlPkZBvDUh_lt7JZhbseIIH8g65Bcfk/s1600/erica+show+card.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 482px; height: 311px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0tge2sKFMwhCLMRxxGrsmuLBKcj3mAW5l0Vu4VpOxZJi1ik-bdwYnGKC9meHTxlvG7HHoWSopalPcfQb4rHiqanq_5XYyTR-cqJ8cENRyh_Xi7hlPkZBvDUh_lt7JZhbseIIH8g65Bcfk/s320/erica+show+card.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5513828171700645778" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We are getting ready for the second of our three art shows during the World Equestrian Games. The best part of all was the installation of the ceramic crosses that were made from broken pieces of pottery by the administrators of the hospital. Each cross represents one of the precepts of the hospital: Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. The verse says "The Lord is near to the broken hearted and makes whole their broken pieces." The symbolism of the broken pieces restored to beauty in form of a cross is a reminder to me each time I see this image.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnXDwbGmsvac9gre1f6NQDRATYtOehX-MvH0iUcWSs51DhXlKAiMsvm_68ErAuhWwa1fG11dHOQny-1FYudozsJaRbDh5qH_Lx8xR8DXB1twAqmoG5KeASFXKlW4k1n8PzOdGPZ9Xiy6gO/s1600/IMG_0650.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnXDwbGmsvac9gre1f6NQDRATYtOehX-MvH0iUcWSs51DhXlKAiMsvm_68ErAuhWwa1fG11dHOQny-1FYudozsJaRbDh5qH_Lx8xR8DXB1twAqmoG5KeASFXKlW4k1n8PzOdGPZ9Xiy6gO/s320/IMG_0650.JPG" border="0" /></a><div style="clear: both;"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" alt="Posted by Picasa" style="border: 0px none; padding: 0px; background: none repeat scroll 0% 50% transparent;" align="middle" border="0" /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-18210808052420917522010-05-26T17:22:00.004-04:002010-05-26T17:49:03.588-04:00"The Ride of a Lifetime" by Rickelle Nelson<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8wxDPNtVA4ihbVLahOO1RxJFOzrwQuu_ZqlRuMXZIxqSeS_ER11jjTkmlh7bGAsMx8k3alyAsgtbyjaETx3p2J1SdEOLpIwDgkDLSRKBkR_GsRTv7CEgsAVkv93aU5m0r6hNjdK3hast2/s1600/rickelle+save+the+date+color+cropped.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 415px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 304px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5475698464472429138" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8wxDPNtVA4ihbVLahOO1RxJFOzrwQuu_ZqlRuMXZIxqSeS_ER11jjTkmlh7bGAsMx8k3alyAsgtbyjaETx3p2J1SdEOLpIwDgkDLSRKBkR_GsRTv7CEgsAVkv93aU5m0r6hNjdK3hast2/s320/rickelle+save+the+date+color+cropped.jpg" /></a> On Thursday, October 7, 2010 we will host a very special art opening for Rickelle Nelson. Rickelle has worked with us for the past two years and we have really watched her art and photography blossom. We were happy to have her a part of our show schedule during the WEG games and Keeneland Fall Meet.<br /><br /><p></p><p></p><p>Her show is titled "The Ride of a Lifetime" and will feature many different forms of art, looking at the life of the horse from birth to retirement.<br /><br />Rickelle has been associated with the Blue Grass Farms Charities for several years and we thought it would be fun to raise a little money for this worthy cause in the meantime. Rickelle is donating an original piece of art for the event which we will be raffling off that night. We will post soon on the exact piece and how to buy raffle tickets for the benefit of Bluegrass Farms Charities.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></p>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-40649978290208207442009-12-29T21:27:00.001-05:002009-12-29T21:30:14.560-05:00An Evening with Arturo at the home of the Todd'sA few weeks ago Mike and I were honored to be guests of Dr. Lee and Patsy Todd at a reception honoring donors for the Endowed Professorship of Dr. Arturo Sandoval, Art Department at the University of Kentucky. Arturo is a wonderful friend of ours, as with every one he comes in contact with. We are so proud of this recognition of his wonderful career in teaching and creating ground breaking art.<br /><br />And as a life long employee of UK, it was a thrill for me to get an opportunity to meet President and Mrs. Todd and see their home. They were very gracious hosts and spent time talking with all their guests. It was a very fun evening for us.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg55b-6MUlETqAUeYcUHO1O__jnl06ncuAvxQHAsZCC-MpBRrgnk_gWJEhu0Dq0yXoo3K3eSb8RLvxn4Mq8Tt6vhdhgQWppY5xiSow1Vj_VEMDbjAb5wROPoUmqhDi9OD6BFmr84GP7fNoZ/s1600-h/ART_5868.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; clear: both;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg55b-6MUlETqAUeYcUHO1O__jnl06ncuAvxQHAsZCC-MpBRrgnk_gWJEhu0Dq0yXoo3K3eSb8RLvxn4Mq8Tt6vhdhgQWppY5xiSow1Vj_VEMDbjAb5wROPoUmqhDi9OD6BFmr84GP7fNoZ/s320/ART_5868.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Left to right: Dr. Lee Todd, Dr. Arturo Sandoval, Letha, Mike and Patsy Todd<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" alt="Posted by Picasa" style="border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;" align="middle" border="0" /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-46545285400314105842009-12-23T11:13:00.000-05:002009-12-23T11:13:13.986-05:00Merry ChristmasMerry Christmas to all our family, friends and clients!<br />We have a wonderful little original painting framed up<br />and ready to go to a Christmas loving home!<br />The picture doesn't do it justice!<br /><br />From us to you, Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year,<br />Mike, Letha and Rickelle<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCXizOQ_ThN9vDTw_6_vG4fRzOHbEUOYsyKPGrGJ09puLlWvgqFX4oQadkNbLzn0tsvLhP0V9cqv1bLwN0nNIT0P2EpY-Z_9HzFuYbClDkA0jwxKvCcn7v8_vcTHxrIDMTBUO4VHe0xa_2/s1600-h/CHRISTMAS+PAINTING.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; FLOAT: left; CLEAR: both" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCXizOQ_ThN9vDTw_6_vG4fRzOHbEUOYsyKPGrGJ09puLlWvgqFX4oQadkNbLzn0tsvLhP0V9cqv1bLwN0nNIT0P2EpY-Z_9HzFuYbClDkA0jwxKvCcn7v8_vcTHxrIDMTBUO4VHe0xa_2/s320/CHRISTMAS+PAINTING.JPG" /></a><div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-37315109207746134002009-11-26T09:11:00.000-05:002009-11-26T09:11:51.495-05:00The UK Dentistry Class Composite Projext<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLFe4oV1kWdjkWQoD12fMxy3w7HJv6y3tPODgB3MgmBS_b2JdgmuFyUN_B82jvoI_NIfKr1D-ZOFa6FSaCTpxXGM0SSz9kdi1B76lvXL2N0KhyphenhyphenbiB4Yi76WNn3erKH68SgWSPWNYYufom3/s1600/IMG_0265.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLFe4oV1kWdjkWQoD12fMxy3w7HJv6y3tPODgB3MgmBS_b2JdgmuFyUN_B82jvoI_NIfKr1D-ZOFa6FSaCTpxXGM0SSz9kdi1B76lvXL2N0KhyphenhyphenbiB4Yi76WNn3erKH68SgWSPWNYYufom3/s320/IMG_0265.JPG" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhecNo39ND_sHNCxz33wdn2rS3VkIeOfRPcUweK2URfvMomeDsgZi5NA0jOnE2IkN55TAnUgeVqdPsBlvPvriPtNfWdk4YH1zukQWjC0vPScPYfKrlqTrY-6NnroNumt9InpNAa5PSIEzGK/s1600/IMG_0264.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhecNo39ND_sHNCxz33wdn2rS3VkIeOfRPcUweK2URfvMomeDsgZi5NA0jOnE2IkN55TAnUgeVqdPsBlvPvriPtNfWdk4YH1zukQWjC0vPScPYfKrlqTrY-6NnroNumt9InpNAa5PSIEzGK/s320/IMG_0264.JPG" /></a><br />Before: The College of Dentistry has displayed the class composites from 1966 to current. However the framing practices back in the day exhibited the worst of the worst from a conservation standpoint. We are redoing them to give them a fresher look and hopefully slow down the damage from acid, UV light and outdated styles! BEFORE: Silver metal frames, Faded blue mat with silver accent, cardboard backing, masking tape and plain glass. The pictures are fading and falling down. Glass is so hazy you can't read the names. A very simple but fresh look for the College. <br /><br />The night before Thanksgiving was a crazy time to work, however, in this busy clinic it was a good time to get out the ol' hammer drill and get things done! However, if you come by South Hill Gallery you can see the pieces on display and have your framing projects completed by a frame shop that truly has <strong><em>"Award Winning"</em></strong> frame designers!</span><div style='clear:both; text-align:NONE'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2347622455395352369.post-21131547190807342142009-10-13T13:11:00.001-04:002009-10-13T13:14:30.286-04:00Museum Glass Feeds America!<div align="center">Did you know that 1 in 8 Americans are facing hunger?</div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNG8ohkFZUSJdMR_RvXQ4_RiTYM9_vBfvTx-gUmUOi9f3hr70ckPF2Kx2ny_02IJveihycQMS4-DEjt5ZI8U5FNwSWKejqpOjlM868NXBYKN6d-_cQ2NFS86kWCYkCk34cyueYniEZBZLu/s1600-h/museum+glass+feeds+america.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 188px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5392133520821799810" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNG8ohkFZUSJdMR_RvXQ4_RiTYM9_vBfvTx-gUmUOi9f3hr70ckPF2Kx2ny_02IJveihycQMS4-DEjt5ZI8U5FNwSWKejqpOjlM868NXBYKN6d-_cQ2NFS86kWCYkCk34cyueYniEZBZLu/s320/museum+glass+feeds+america.jpg" /></a><br /><div align="center">Come by South Hill Gallery from now until February 28, 2010 and get a free </div><div align="center"><em><strong>Tru Vue Museum Glass® Feeds America </strong></em></div><div align="center"><em><strong>"Scratch, Give and Win" Card</strong></em>. </div><div align="center">Each card offers cash prizes or discount certificates to winners, and Tru Vue will match every cash prize with an equal donation to Feeding America (formerly named Americas Second Harvest), the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity. The frame design included a wonderful hand waxed wooden Romaframe with an expresso brown finish, a hand wrapped silk liner and a wonderful wood fillet next to the art.<br />Mike painstakingly joined the frame, Rickelle cut and joined the fillet into the liner and the art was fitted into the package. The result was a lovely piece of art in a custom designed package that would grace any space!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWRKsOp9Z2uH2Ath9ZX5abZy4YvZq3hfmw7ztdq-bNCXjNQeHTkzNVFTY3tZZJZPLemRIyqJgiUFlpMiIdwoLwW__jRpbNXN-AbGtsG6dXnpNtQsUTXFq8Bi4vj4qmIRdjJjXwNFs9GbY6/s1600-h/SANY0040.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; clear: both;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWRKsOp9Z2uH2Ath9ZX5abZy4YvZq3hfmw7ztdq-bNCXjNQeHTkzNVFTY3tZZJZPLemRIyqJgiUFlpMiIdwoLwW__jRpbNXN-AbGtsG6dXnpNtQsUTXFq8Bi4vj4qmIRdjJjXwNFs9GbY6/s320/SANY0040.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjL4mPKOX_1NvaH9oEDK80PjJvpfLXcNTsPPQVEPN7vv_wnZWG6_kPmwkjLg_pWSwjmifdL5iMkc1_P3jMfVepP3Rp1h_0ydLS4zG0-z-_hIyqyqziwDDYp4KbOptx8hLF09Cp30XlrSBQ/s1600-h/SANY0048.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; clear: both;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjL4mPKOX_1NvaH9oEDK80PjJvpfLXcNTsPPQVEPN7vv_wnZWG6_kPmwkjLg_pWSwjmifdL5iMkc1_P3jMfVepP3Rp1h_0ydLS4zG0-z-_hIyqyqziwDDYp4KbOptx8hLF09Cp30XlrSBQ/s320/SANY0048.JPG" border="0" /></a><div style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" alt="Posted by Picasa" style="border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;" align="middle" border="0" /></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17646936550822752500noreply@blogger.com0
